Pool Lounge®: A Revolutionary Spa Cover

The inspiration for the Pool Lounge® came from the needs and desires of customers seeking a spa cover that would provide several key benefits. Armstark GmbH listened to their customers and developed a cover that reduces heating costs, requires minimal maintenance, protects against contamination, and ensures the safety of children and pets. The result is a fully automated terrace enlargement system with nanotechnology-based insulation, heatable rails, and an impressive design.

What sets the Pool Lounge® apart from other spa covers is its world-class innovation in energy efficiency, comfort, and design. The walkable and fully resilient (320kg/m²) cover fits perfectly over in-ground swimming pools, hot tubs, and swim spas. Its counter-sunk, flush-to-floor design ensures that the pool is not visible when not in use, while the area above the spa offers additional free space for furniture.

The Pool Lounge® features an unprecedented and effective thermal insulation system. Developed in collaboration with Nano GmbH, the insulation is based on a scientifically developed nanotechnology coating. This coating not only reduces heating costs but also significantly lowers water evaporation, reducing maintenance and resource consumption. The stability and functionality of this innovative development have been inspected and confirmed by the Chair for Chemistry and Polymeric Materials at the University of Leoben.

Operating the Pool Lounge® is effortless and convenient. It can be moved manually or at the touch of a button, providing users with the freedom to use the entire surface as a resilient lounge. Unlike conventional insulation, which is prone to water vapor and water sanitizers, the Pool Lounge® offers a newly developed insulation based on scientifically tested nanotechnology coating. This unique insulation not only saves energy and costs but also ensures an extremely low level of water evaporation, reducing the need for water sanitizers.

The Pool Lounge® project started in June 2014 in Schärding, Austria, and the product was launched in July 2015. The design team, led by product designers Richard Armstark and Christian Armstark, product developer Reinhard Helmig, and brand manager Agnes Untner, overcame numerous challenges to create this innovative, sustainable, and consumer-friendly spa cover.

The Pool Lounge® has received international recognition for its exceptional design and functionality. It was awarded the Silver A' Design Award in the Building Materials and Construction Components Design category in 2016.
